Suffering from Chronic or Persistent Pain? Hard to Perform Daily Activities? Tired of the Pain?
Many pain specialists recommend the term "persistent pain "which can be continuous or a recurrent pain with a duration and intensity that adversely affects a person's well-being, level function and quality of life. Chronic pain is usually considered to be more than 3 to 6 months. Acute pain is characterized as being a recent onset; it is usually from an identifiable cause for example an auto accident or work injury.
If you have had a Chronic or Persistent pain which you have had more than 3 to 6 months you should be evaluated and treated so that this chronic condition does not progress into a more serious condition such as radiating pain from your neck into the arms or lower back pain radiating to your legs (sciatica).
